The Books in Print database is now available remotely with you library barcode. I just attended a training sesssion demonstrating some of the latest features of the database. BIP includes full-text first chapters of many books. You can search to find books that have been nominated for or won awards. Use the $ sign in the Awards field to include all awards. Click on the Bestseller tab to search various bestseller lists, or use the search box for Publishers Weekly Bestsellers and enter a year to see over a century of bestselling titles, as well as a description of key events in publishing for the year. You can save any search and create an alert so you will be notified when a new title matching you search is published. BIP has also added connections to online booksellers so you can compare prices.
